Well there isn't even an official word for "water" (though there is a derived one, pay)...

"Fì'u keye'ung lu!"
"Keye'ung? FÌTSENG. LU. SPA'TAAAAAAA!!!"

Ftiafpi

Yeah, I've tried to make a word for snow before but I think it's beyond our vocabulary right now.

There are frozen polar regions and water so snow seems very likely.

Unfortunately, I have to agree.

Irayo for the effort.  I didn't think there was anything at the present time. Maybe a future Avatar sequel will introduce an arctic tribe and we'll get a word for "snow".  Something to look forward to srak?

On a similar topic, I was looking for a word for 'fish', but since I didn't find one, considered a compound word using water and animal. pay+ioang. payioang. But I'm unfamiliar with Na'vi and compounds, if this even works grammatically. Any advice?

Ftiafpi

This would seem to be a good way to say fish. Just put something like "" or ** or san sìk around the word to denote that it's a "made-up" compound word (though for that one I think people would figure it out).

I use *payran using a similar construction to ikran although this might refer to a boat more accurately.

Irayo Ftiafpi, I'm trying to translate Dr. Seuss for my daughter.

'aw *payioang, mune *payioang, txep *payioang, ean *payioang.

(didn't have a word for red, so I substituted 'fire')

These are just exercises I'm doing for myself to promote practice and immersion.

We're going to be getting colors from Frommer soon.

Really ma ftiafpi, how do we know this, is it just that someone sent ayoengä sempul an email asking him or has he told us about his intention to do so?

Either way, yippee!

Prrton asked him if I remember correctly and Frommer said he would get us colors and directions (left and right) soon.

Well it sounds like this Prrton fellow is a pretty good dude to keep close with, if he can contact Toktor Frommer!

We could probably use 'tskxepay' for ice and possibly for snow depending on how close the Na'vi relate the two.

Well, Prrton is a pretty good dude... but that aside, anyone can contact Karyu Pawl.  His email address is not too hard to find if you Google for him (hint - he works at a college, and his college has a faculty web page, and the web page has contact info).

Frommer can't always answer every email, but he might answer yours.  He usually answers Prrton's. :)

We have to come up with a na'vi name for Frommer. Something like "the giver of words" or "almighty father" just in na'vi

We've already been calling him Karyu Pawl; and, of course, in the message he was sent asking to help us learn the Na'vi language, he was addressed as Sempul Lì'fyayä.
