"Will have to" How to say that?
« on: March 02, 2011, 06:27:10 pm »
The title says it all. Example: You will have to be brave.
How does one say that in Na'vi?

I use the verb kin infixed with the future infix <ay>. I'd translate your example as nga kayin livu tstew :)

Edit: tho Kemawayan's example is also good ;)

Nìtxan irayo! So One is for when 'have to' is a must and the other one when it's a need.

This is actually not correct. The verb kin cannot use modal syntax. Instead, we must use the noun tìkin together with lu:

Ngaru layu tìkin a tstew lu
There will be need to you to be brave

I think Kemaweyan's version is closer to will have to though.
