Sentence translation

Hi!

Have you ever played Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core? Well, if you haven't, in the game, Genesis, one of the main characters, recites a poem called Loveless. I was trying to translate a part of it, which is: "Wind sails over the water's surface. Quietly, but surely".

The translation I got is: Hufwel tul mì payit... nìfya lefnu, slä nìfya eyawr.

Can u tell me if this is correct?

1. Mì+ is triggers lenition, so payit -> fayit
2. Nouns do not take both adposition and case, they take one or the other
3. I would use io- instead of mì+
4. For "quietly", I'd use nìfnu directly. It's not Frommerian, and I'm not sure nì- is productive, but it doesn't seem too much of a stretch in any case

I'm not sure about "surely". I wouldn't use eyawr myself, but I can't think of a good alternative.

How about "nìyawr?"

Although "nìlaw," although similarly not fully Frommerian, would probably be better understood.  "Nìyawr" vs "nìlaw" is like saying "correctly" vs. "certainly."

Thus a possible final sentence: Hufwel tul io payit... nìfnu, slä nìlaw(mi).

I don't know about that. Law means "certain, clear", which I'm not convinced is the same as "certain, sure".
