I swear i heard this or something like it similar in the movie, it sounded almost like a curse word as Neytiri said it in anger almost.


Do we have a translation on it?

I believe she is calling him a sky person there. Tawtute. I will have to listen again to be sure. And for sure sky person could be a curse in Na'vi lol!

Edit: Nope it's not tawtute...perhaps she's calling him like stupid person? tute is person, I can't make out the first part of what she is saying. Perhaps someone without a hearing problem can get it XD

I think she is maybe saying Aysawtute. This would be the plural of tawtute. Like tsmukan for example, the plural become aysmukan, and then smukan if you want. Well that's just an idea.

Technically the ay- isn't required in that case.  Because of lentition and the fact that it is caused by ay+, sawtute implicitly is plural.  So even if what you heard was exactly what she said, it would still be correct.

However, I believe she did say it.

i used my media player to slow it down, the audio clip is too grainy and noisy for me to get a clear vocal, its all distorted by the low resolution and background noise, it might be starting with an f or a v, there is definately a fffff or vvvv sound going on there. But as i said the clips reolution is far too low for me to be accurate.

The media player i use is VLC VideoLan codec player LOL its a gay name but the player is quite nice. Its one of the few ive ever used that supported realplayer codecs right out of the installer.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ small footprint, decent management, tons of supported codecs. Its awesome compared to the bloated mpc

I confirm, VLC is a really nice player, no-need for special codecs, everything is already inside.
