Na'vi participles can only be used attributively with nouns, so "lu + any participle" is out.

Like other passives, you'll need to rephrase this passive as an active with some indefinite subject.  Fko is most often used for this job, oeti fko tung....

Hmm, I've just realised I don't know what to put next. Would that phrase "count" as a modal verb so you just use <iv>, or should you use a fwa/futa-like construction? If the latter, wouldn't it need to be in the dative? If so, what is the dative version of that? Just "fi'ur a" or is there a special one?


I'm specifically trying to translate "access denied" - so far I have Nga-ti fko ke tung fi'u-r a salew. - You-ACC it not allow this-DAT that continue.

I'm specifically trying to translate "access denied" - so far I have Nga-ti fko ke tung fi'u-r a salew. - You-ACC it not allow this-DAT that continue.

I'd probably use futa and oeru instead, they allow that I run to me, or possibly, not use the oeru at all and have it implied as the subject of the futa is oe.

So I'd say fkol/ayoel ke tung futa nga salew, or, for a slightly different nuance, I might use ke tsun tivung instead of ke tung in which case it would just be fko/ayoe.

Fko might be better in this case as it comes right after "could not connect to proxy server" (I translated it as "Ke tsamun tsaheylu sivi lekxama eltur lefngap") - it's not actually Opera denying the connection, it's the server.

So the full sentence is "access denied, could not connect to proxy server" ko?

In that case, I'd definitely go with fko ke tsun tivung futa.

The full thing would be something along the lines of:

2. Ok, in that case, I'd go with ke tsamun tsaheyl sivi [proxy]a eltur(u) lefngap tafral fko ke tsun tivung futa nga sivalew

3. Once the subject is established, any new subjects are assumed to be that one if a new one is not established so oe fpìl tafral lu is just as correct as oe fpìl tafral oe lu. Likewise, in a case like this, the could not connect to proxy server, the subject doesn't really convey any useful info so you can probably drop it.
