"Other temporal and aspectual forms include tovaron, telaron, tusaron, tairon. Tense and aspect need not be marked when they can be understood by context or elsewhere in the sentence.

I'm curious as to what the infixes <ov>, <el>, <us>, and <ai> mean!!!?

Please please please Mr. Frommer!  Develop Na'Vi as much as you can!!!

When reading that interview I felt like I was being teased.

I also suspect very strongly that tairon is a mistake of some sort.  It doesn't follow the pattern of all the other infixes (an i coming after the stem vowel, rather than before it).

He might have been mixed up with the lauditive <ei>, but even then, that doesn't appear unless after the penultimate syllable's consonant :\

Incredible work! I'm heading off to see Avatar (for the second time), but once I get back, I'll gladly enter this into a database prototype I've been working on. Do I have your permission to post it on the main website?

Also, who knows enough about computational linguistics to help set up a translation / search-engine? My database knowledge is at an intermediate level, but nowhere near good enough to set up a functional translation web-interface. (Which would, of course, be free. Silly iPhone apps.)

EDIT: stickied

I know PHP and MySQL, could make an online dictionary for you if you like. Including an admin interface for entering new words/phrases.

There were some vocabulary used in the movie, I did not see it transcribed.

Anyone have any notes?

That's what I am trying to do but it's  not that easy. :) I'll try to get a couple of words as soon as possible.

There are several trailers (well, not much od na'vi) and also some R4 sinema rips (ilegal). Transcriptions I didnt see, sorry.

Btw, there will be also good idea to make movie timeline (time - navi - translation) and continuously fill empty lines.
Navi != Na'vi. Deku Tree != Utral Aymokriyä

Hey,

its my first post here. I made a searcheable dictionary. You will find it at wb.pandorapedia.de.
this is only a very early preview. but is allready contains a fuzzy search. in future i want to add a function, where you can add new words, synonyms, or translate them in your language. Also i want to add some kind of api, which can be used by other apps ;)
please feel free to test it.

if you have some experience in php/html/sql and so on, may be we can work together.

good stuff, mate. Just make sure that any new words added are official, as we do NOT want to spread misinformation.

Hey, can anyone try and explain to me the meaning of the verb sìk?  It says "unquote", but I'm not sure the context in which that would be used :\

I doubt very much this is a verb.

Some languages have little words they work into phrases (start or end, usually, but other fiendish possibilities exist) which is a signal that the phrase is a quotation.  I suspect that's what this word is.  We have no examples of it yet, so no clue how to use it.

Karyu Amawey

Ay, that's what i thought.  I'm doing flashcards and I come across that one and it doesn't make any sense :\

i worked on this dictionary. it is now posiblem to search in german, french and spanish. i made a little script, which translated the english part on google an put it back into my database. so there are some words not or not correctly translated :( if you find such a word, pleas tell me, so i can correct this.
