Is there a word for sorry?  If not, would aytsap'alute (apologies) function as sorry?  Just out of curiosity.

I think this would be in the correct section, but my grasp of forums is only slightly better than my grasp of Na'vi.

There isn't, but if you want to say " i'm sorry ", you could use either "tsap'alute si", or "oeru txoa livu" (i do/make apology, may there be forgiveness for me).
"Hrrap rä'ä si olo'ur smuktuä." ; "Ke'u ke lu ngay. Frakemit tung." (Assassin's Creed)

Seems overly wordy.  But, you probably know more than me, so I'll take your word for it.

To say I apologize:  Oe tsap'alute si.

The more "natural" way seems to include the pejorative(?), since corpus-examples we have until now do it this way:

Quote
Frommer in his "Times Online"-interview: Fìskxawngìri tsap'alute sengi oe.
Frommer in an email to Taronyu: Kxeyeyri tsap'alute sengi oe. [kxeyey = mistake, error]

Short form is obviously just "tsap'alute":

Quote
Frommer in an email to suomichris: Tsap'alute, mì upxare a fpole' oel ayngaru trram lu kxeyey:

Mako

I always say "my apologies," oeyä sap'alute.

omängum fra'uti

That would be an idiomic expression translated literally.  It may still be correct in Na'vi, but only if Na'vi has a similar idiom.
Ftxey lu nga tokx ftxey lu nga tirea? Lu oe tìkeftxo.
