Would the word for "tear" be sätsngawvìk? Or "what one uses to cry."

(Eywa, Na'vi words are getting long...)

You could use that, until we get something official.  I personally like narpayvi.  (nari + pay + -vi)
Rìk oe lu hufwemì, nìn fya'ot a oe tswayon!

What is the (particle) "-vi?"

If it is what I think it is, then we COULD render the word "vitra" as a c.w. of "vi-" (which I assume means a small piece of something; txepvi, spark (a small piece of fire)) and a contraction of tirea. All together, a soul is a small piece of [overall] spirit...

I really wouldn't trust sä- that much. It's an instrumental nouner, anyway: you don't use tears to cry as one uses a hammer to put a nail in the wall.

I'd use: pay atsngawnawvìk (a+tsngawvìk + <awn>, perfect participle) - cried water.
