Regardless of which color it appears to them, they would presumably see patterns they wouldn't otherwise see. Take a pic of a to-you plain white flower in UV, and you will see the landing stripes that bees see. Even if UV just looks violet to you, those are violet stripes you wouldn't otherwise see. So two sp. of flower might look similar to the Na'vi but very different to their horses in IR, and presumably they would have a name for this inconstant color effect. Maybe just "pa'li red"!

Unless JC elaborates more about Na`vi sensory systems, I think the cautious approach is to keep any extended vision scheme (and its attendant vocabulary) simple. If humans have extended vision, they might for instance, see infrared as a deep, ruby red. (And some IR emitters also give off a deep red light.) UV might be a very deep (but not necessarily intense) violet shade. I expect what the Na`vi actually experience to be different from what we experience. But, it is probably roughly similar, or there would be a great deal of trouble building avatars that would work with humans.

As far as what a Na'vi would sense of their animal through a tsaheylu connection is an interesting question, and open to a wide range of speculation (until JC sets us straight). Do they have 'animal vision' at all? Do they have 'different screens' in their mind where they can see both what they see and their mount sees? Can they switch between the eyes of their mount? These would have been good '20 questions' topics.

Maybe the safest way to proceed here, is not to further explore terms for vision outside the range of what we would call 'visible light' until more is known about Na`vi physiology. I doubt that this will be the last request for new words.
