And here's the last part of the LEP, the C-priority words.

Thanks to last-minute enthusiasm from Prrton, the list is a bit longer than the 1000 Karyu Pawl asked for (1013), with 437 of those in the C-list.

In two months LN.org produced a pretty interesting lexical document and has left its mark and character on Na'vi's future vocabulary in a significant way.  Thanks to everyone who participated.

Is it just me or are the hiragana not displayed correctly in the entries, but just in the index?

Fah!  I thought I got all of those with romanizations.

Finding a font that could handle all the languages in the LEP and in bold face was a vexing part of this project.

I am glad in some limited way that I was there when it happened.

Just read through the list. There are some really creative word suggestions there, and some nice humor as well! I guess 'abomination' is my favorite suggestion (I forgot to put 'egregious' on the list while I was thinking about it. Oh well.) Still though, I have the same gut feeling that others have expressed-- that all of us have overlooked some absurdly basic vocabulary, the lack of which will come back to frip us later.

Thanks so much for your effort and the time you all put into this!

Almost certainly.  I was thinking of very basic vocabulary the day before I sent Pawl this document.  Fortunately, the point of the LEP was not to complete Na'vi but to move it a step forward.

Sitting down to make a list of things you know is surprisingly difficult.  Once two friends of mine had a contest to see if each could name 40 different kinds of cheese (they're both food enthusiasts).  If I recall correctly, neither was able to finish such a list, but when we compared the lists there were items listed by one person which the other knew, but wasn't able to fish out of their brain.  I tried with the VOA list to overcome some of that.

Once Frommer gets through these terrifying lists we can all use these words for a while to discover where we've missed coverage while still being able to use the language for a lot more situations.
