Random question - do you have the Papyrus font installed? The main page shows up strange on my computer; the title/headers shifted around, but that's about it. More info to come...

Chrome never crashed on me, perhaps its your OS and not the browser? Unless it is a combined problem where the OS and the browser cause the crash together.  Possibly try a different browser?

I've tried IE and Firefox. It does not crash with those browsers.

Hey, I can corroborate this bug. I also get a BSOD on learnnavi.org using Google Chrome 4.0.249.43 on Windows 7.
There's also a report from someone on Twitter: http://twitter.com/rsotolongo/status/7440261975

I've confirmed that the crash does not occur on Firefox or IE, and accordingly, I've sent a bug report to Google.

Have the same problem with chrome. Using IE now instead. Only for this website.

What does the BSOD say? IT should give some kind of error code which might help.

Don't know, all I know that with the plugin for Chrome (Called IE TAB or something) It still works. Chrome is my favorite webbrowser again  ;D

It still crashes with normal chrome.

Yeah i got some friends crashing a bit with Chrome but IE and FF is all good

I can also confirm that there is an issue with the site rather than the browser.

BSoD: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x838d9407, 0xa0b4a90c, 0x00000000).

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION)
which indicates that a memory access violation occurred.

Which means that there is something in the code of your website that causes conflict in the memory. Google Chrome is very lenient about what it does and doesn't allow into the volatile memory because the whole point is to make web applications act just like normal executables but with limited read/write rights outside of it's own "cell". Other browsers and OS's may pick this mistake up and correct it for you, but that's not a very good thing to rely on.

I have Chrome 3.0.195.38 (up to date as of today) and I'm running Windows "7100" 6.1 with up-to-date drivers for all of my hardware.

Using Chrome on XP.  No issues.

Running Win7 Pro and Chrome Build 4.1.249.1021. Every time I visit learnnavi.org, I bluescreen. 3 tries so far, 100% BSOD. Can repeat if more testing is necessary.

No issues in Firefox.

Weird, huh?

Merged with identical thread. Yep, I'm aware and hoping to fix it when I have some time. My current opinion on the matter: Get a browser that doesn't stalk you and won't crash when trying to render an italicized font that is nonexistant on your system :)

But I love my chrome! It works so smooooth, never have to go directly to google ever again.

Yeah, I love Chrome. I, too, haven't had any problems with chrome. Maybe it's your internet, or maybe your computer's hardware. I've had minute problems, like a error message here and there. However, I haven't had them in awhile and they were easily fixed by refreshing and/or returning to the previous page. Also, with that said, whenever that happened when I posted a comment, it still posted correctly. If you're still having the problem, I wish you best of luck.
My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

Hello...?  Any fixes on the horizon?

I'm also running Win 7 with Chrome, and I REALLY hate to open up my spamware filled instance of FF just to check the dictionary!  The forum works just fine, but I can confirm the STOP 8E error when using Chrome version 5.0.371.0 dev.

Although, oddly enough, the bluescreen shows up twice, one copy on the left of my screen, and one on the right.  This is something that in my 17 years of life (and 15 years of computing!) that I have NEVER seen.  I can take a pic and show you what I mean, if you want.

Two other comments:  Isn't the fact that we're getting a bluescreen of death when researching the Na'vi kind of...ironic?  And, c'mon, whoever's hating on the Win 7/Chrome combo, just because you like some other OS and browser doesn't mean you get to impose your wishes on everyone else!  I, as a novice programmer and so-called 'computer nerd' think that 7's the best MS OS yet, and Chrome is the cleanest browser ever.  But I'm not forcing you to use them, am I?   ;)

Also, terribly sorry if this is considered necroposting...but it's kind of a serious issue, dont'cha think?  And it's been unresolved for 4 months...?
If I bork up what I'm trying to say, even if it's not relevant to the conversation, please DO NOT HESITATE to PM me, and you will get karma!

It is a serious issue for Chrome, and much more for Windows.  A kernel panic is never the correct response to visiting a web page, and should never be possible no matter what's on a web page.  It is not this forum's problem.

Edit: ok, that's a bit abrupt of me, sorry.  But we just can't solve a BSOD.  There's just nothing a web page can do which should result in that.  Chrome and Windows need to take this outside and work it out on their own.  ;)

Toruk Makto

I am forced to agree with Wm on this. The issue is not on our end, so there is sadly little we can do. My suggestion is to beat on MS to fix Win7.

I'm running Google Chrome on Windows 7 64bit, and it hasn't had a problem yet.

Just wanted to point out that this problem apparently doesn't affect everyone who uses Chrome.
