The Forums database crashed this morning at 9:30am(CST and had to be restored from the midnight backup.  Any posts entered since midnight (CST) evaporated.

Apologies for the fuss. I am working on trying to figure out what happened.

Quite likely. The backups were 9 hours old.

From the best I can figure, it appears this is a delayed reaction from a corruption of the mysql innodb journal that happened in that last power failure a couple of days ago. The power is now fixed and I hope this is the only persistent effect that pops up.

Sounds plausible to me. Databases usually don't like power outages or hardware failures that much ;)

Well, today I've lost some posts, but hey it was a pretty good mental training to re-post my posts. ;D

Does anything need to be checked on the Dothraki side? And now that I think about it, I lost a PM there last night. The forums were not (to my knowledge) active in the last 24 hours, so things should be OK there.

And I discovered that I had lost a Na'vi post as well. That has been replaced by a better post on the same subject.
