Discord LN channel
« on: March 25, 2016, 12:15:15 pm »
Kaltxì ma smuk,

LearnNa'vi has now a channel at Discord! For those who don't know what Discort is, it is like a mixure of TS3 and Skype. One can use via web browser, a small program for PCs or apps for mobile devices. That service is completely free, btw. Thanks to Vawmataw, who has created it! :)

One just have to register an account there and then one can either create an own "server" or join to the LN channel by following this link:
https://discord.gg/WF6qcmv

There's also Discord (online) if you don't like to download things.
So is there an official LN Discord channel? I'd love that, Discord is so nice and handy.
Well, Mäko has a channel.

For the Neytiri Project, I reckon? How about a channel for all of LN?

Officially no. We should ask Toruk Makto for that. I could use my dormant channel.

Prolly not, but I figured since I always use Discord in the recent time I could just ask if there's a LN channel~

Ok, now I understand. Might be worth checking out, although Tirea is right, why not use what we have. I think the biggest challenge is finding time to do it.

Discord is completely free, available as free app for mobile devices, in browsers or as a desktop app, it has better sound quality and a better chat, several sub-channels and voice channels and whatnot. Skype quality is poor in comparison, imho, especially with larger groups talking, and TS3 isn't free. That's why imho Discord > TS3 > Skype :P

To add onto this: Discord consistantly uses a ton less RAM than Skype ever has for me.

...Also why I'm personally trying to stop using Skype at all.

Doesn't mean we have to do anything with the or get rid of them in my opinion, but some people use one more than the other.

Just to list where are LN groups:

LN IRC
LN TS3
LN group - Facebook
LN group - Whatsapp
<I forget one or two>
LN - Discord :P

We are pretty much everywhere.  ;D ;D

edit: so, we have stuff for everyone's need :P
