I think the Na'vi community will grow bigger, but I think until there are as much Na'vi speakers as klingon it will take some time. Fact is, that Na'vi is a very beautiful and klingon is... less beautiful 

And I think it don't need much time until there is a Na'vi version of Hamlet

I reckon Na'vi has the potential to grow, although I don't think as big as Klingon of Elvish. However, this depends if Cameron makes sequels.
Also Frommer's influence on the development of the language is instrumental to making it big. He should get on this forum or something.

Yeah, Frommer would be praised here on the forums... but I think he's far too busy to work on this language more. Maybe if Cameron decides to film some sequels, the Frommer would continue.

Frommer has already stated that he is continuously working on this language, its his baby. Also there is no doubt that there will be sequels. I just doubt, with contractually obligations, he'll be able to give away free information on a forum.

I definitely see it as growing but I agree with what has been said so many times. As long as there are still holes in our knowledge of how all grammatical rules work things will lead to a dead end ... people will claim to have the right answer, invent new words, the community will split *worst-case scenario*

Although I'm really enthused about the whole development ... and observing how such a phenomenon actually comes to life I'm kind of sad thinking about the 10 or so languages that die out every day because so few people are interested in learning real living languages - somebody said there are so many creative ways to say things in Na'vi. Well, I'm certain that there are hundreds of human languages that convey the exact same feeling with - maybe - the same feel for beautiful sound and as complex and exotic as Na'vi feels to us at the moment.

I guess that's part of human nature as well - just to strive for that otherness that we don't seem to find where we are and with what we have

I don't want to be pessimistic - as I said, I'm as intrigued about the language as all of you are (otherwise we wouldn't be here ) But I see the flipside as well, and as interested as I am in the grammatical structure (same as I was with Klingon or Elvish or Esperanto) they only exist and are piled together to create something new because they already exist in one form or other here ... on our very own Pandora Just to keep that in mind

It is sad to see all of those beautiful languages slip away, sadly most of those are so isolated there are few ways to learn them short of hunting down the few speakers left in a distant country. Here we have at least something to play with and a promise of more information being given. Also I think the newness of it all is what intrigues people the most. It's a rare day indeed that you get to be the start of something new that is guaranteed to grow into something more.

Dr. Frommer may either have a contractual or ethic injunction against participating in a forum like this. He doesn't own the rights to the Na'vi language and can't release anything about it without a corporate ok from the studio.  Being here could be dangerous for him in that regard.

We all just need a little patience. The holidays are just now ending, and the studio is still busy from the success of the movie, but it sounds like something official will be in the works as soon as everything has calmed down. Soon we'll get some official that will clear things up a bit, and hopefully we'll soon get some more vocab. Frommer loves this language so I bet he's made some more by now. Like I've said before though, I doubt he'll ever be able to just come on for free and give us advice. He'll make something official, we'll buy it,  learn it, expand on it, and hopefully keep some communication with Frommer open that will keep everything we create in consideration so that it will continue to grow.

But seriously, as Tìng Eywatikìte'e said, we need patience, and the movie hasnt even seen all its viewers yet, i still see lines at my local theater to see it, so lets just work with what we have. I feel we will prosper in the long run, bt as humans we want everything now so, who knows
