The movie is still playing and making some money. We need to wait patiently and hope it makes a lot of money. If it makes a lot of money there will be sequels. With sequels there will be more Na'vi.

Also, we need to wait until the special edition DVD is out. I am sure there will be quite a few things on Na'vi there.

Avatar is one of five movies that has broken the billion dollar mark. We are well past the point of it making money. It is currently at number 3 about to break to number 2 and may very well beat Cameron's last billion dollar movie Titanic. Sequels have been confirmed. Right now it's just a matter of waiting for some of the excitement to die down so they can concentrate on the smaller parts of the franchise, like little old us.

It's already beaten Lord Of The Rings and is holding the #2 spot as we speak. Look here:

Is this right? I just write whatever in the signature box?

Yeah I just saw that. Congrats Cameron you are now officially make the most lucrative movies ever.

Just imagine what Avatar 2 is going to rake in! Movies like this have a tendency to go up in terms of gross, look at LOTR.

There is no question that sequels tend to make much more profit than original. And Avatar being so darn good, it's no doubt that Avatar 2 and 3 will rock the box office.

We just gotta sit and wait for Cameron to treat us to a sequel.

Au contrair, mon ma tsmukan.

I believe differently. And the fact that this forum exists serves to prove that we are limited only by our imaginations, and that damnedable 500-1,000 word vocabulary. Ideas are flying around this place that are making it more fun than ever for new students to learn Na'vi, easier than ever.

Thank you for your thoughts. I value them greatly.

Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)
(Very old, outdated) Na'vi FUN activity book is here: But what are you doing? Let me know! :)

I can't help but visualize the scene in the movie where they show the unobtanium hidden underneath home tree, and the main contractor whose name eludes me right now says, "look at all that cheddar!"

Needless to say, I've see the movie a few too many times, though I think I'm surrounded by like company here  ;)

Parker Selfridge.  There was uninformed speculation he may be back in the sequels because his character was so wishy washy toward the end.

It would be interesting to see him at least a bit in the sequels, like what happens when he lands back on Earth. Hooo boy I bet he has some explaining to do!

Well for now English is the only reference point for translation as far as grammar goes. Frommer is an American using (I think) English grammar concepts. But having college courses on Na'vi would be the epitome for the language, taught by frommer himself, and would be magical.

He reminds me of that slimy villain in Alien (2? 3?) The corporate (expletive) who wants sample aliens for R&D.

We could use their Tech to defend Pandora, I say, invite them to the war.

We have a thread for negotiations.

Besides with Conan O'Brien learning the language, I am pretty sure there is some stability for a while.

With the way that this site has been growing over the past few days, I'd say that this language might end up having a fair amount of fluent speakers.

In terms of the way that the language will be added to however, it may be that each community will have their own interpretation of the grammar side of things until we get an official publication for learning.

Klingon has a huge fanbase but I think that Avatar is more a language that a lot more people would love to learn because it sounds awesome.
