How can you necro a sticky?

However, Payoang suggested in here that you can necro a sticky.  Why is it, then, that the message doesn't appear on sticked threads?

The whole point of a necro isn't bringing it back up. It's spam. If the comment doesn't add anything to the thread, which it normally doesnt, as the thread has died, then there is no reason to bring it back up. It's basically just inflating your post count.

Stickies don't fall down, so, yeah, the message may not apply. But that's a warning, not a prohibition. It is still possible to necro a sticky, even if that warning doesn't come up (which it won't) by making inane or non-relevant comics.

I think the best way to put it: If you don't have something significant/relevant to contribute, don't post. Of course, there are exceptions.

Necroposting weeks/months after a topic has been abandoned means is looked down upon because it unnecessarily. If a thread is stickied, it usually exists as an informational introduction, or something to that nature.

Spamming is stream of consciousness writing, off-topic discussion, and other rambling chit-chat. (Or actual advertisements). Good thing we have a whole board for that.
