I wanted to know how to type ä and ì without the buttons.  I read it on here somewhere but I can't find it now.  Someone please help!
Went learnnavi.org.  Clicked on vocabulary.  Typed moron in search box to learn how to spell skxawng.  Found two Na'vi words for moron.  Life complete.  ;D

Within the windows operating system, there is a set of additional codes called "ALT-Codes" that allow for various letters (different languages) and different symbols (such as the Euro symbol when you have the US $ sign).  You hold the ALT key and then usually type a four digit number.  You can search for a complete list via your favorite web search engine.

However, the two you are looking for are:

Hold the ALT key and then type 0 2 3 6 for the ì symbol.
Hold the ALT key and then type 0 2 2 8 for the ä symbol.

(Edit:  I found the link you were looking for in the Wiki...)

you can also use an alternative keyboard layout, like the one I created specifically for Na'vi, found here.

kx w e r t y u i o p
a s tx f ng h ì k l
z ä ts v px n m

is roughly how my kxwerty kbl looks.

I wonder, if someone with Wiki Edit access can add kxwerty to the wiki?

It might be helpful to note on there that in order to do é, on kxwerty, you use AltGr+e

Irayo for adding that. :)
