This is not a signature... It is also not a blatant lie.

Glad to see the server address is now ts.learnnavi.org, and that this topic has been moved over to be next to the Skype topic.  Also, the TS server is now linked from the learnnavi.org website home page.  Good thing you are on better bandwidth now...

Just a question, I live in australia so we have a capped download limit of 10gb :( how much data does teamspeak use?
yer aussie internet sucks at the moment, i have a 12GB cap with a speed of 150Kb/s, we need telstra to upgrade their data cables ASAP

Since bandwidth is a problem for some users, I will explain how to keep an eye on it right now.

Once you connect, right click on your name and select connection info.  This will open a wonderful window which shows everything about your connection; your ping, bytes transfered (this is the one you would want to watch), bandwidth, etc.  It updates every second, so it is as live as you can get.

However, like I said, it shouldn't take that much bandwidth.

Kxetse!

We really need TeamSpeak 3?
I'm running on 2, because of a game .. (Not Avatar the Game, I play it too. (I don't have UBI code yet :P))
Dutch > Na'vi
Feel free to join the Teamspeak 3 server, check the forum.
Wanna help me learn or learn both? PM me!

Yes, you will need to install Teamspeak 3.  TeamSpeak 2 is not compatible with TeamSpeak 3.  However, you can have both installed on your computer at the same time, so you can still use TeamSpeak 2 for your game and TeamSpeak 3 for Na'vi.

If you really wanted (yes, I have tried this), you can have both TeamSpeak 2 and 3 open at the same time, connected to 2 different servers, and have 2 different push to talk keys and use both servers at the same time.

IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!

Teamspeak is a place to grow in learn. It's not Na'vi only (English is o.k.) and everyone is really helpful and awesomely constructive.  This is the only way to go from mediocre to awesome at Na'vi!

We are all here to learn the language of Na'vi.  However, how can we learn the language if we cannot speak the language.   The language of Na'vi is meant to be spoken not written.  In fact, the only reason it has a writing system is because we created one for it.  This language was never meant to be written, and yet, that is how we are learning to use it.

We try to make do with the IRC, but the IRC does not let us "speak" the language.  We try to make do with Skype, but Skype requires people to jump through hoops.  We try to use the forum, but we cannot hear the language.  We try to use recordings, but we cannot communicate with the language.

This raises the question, how can we use the language the way it is meant to be used?

The answer: TeamSpeak.

One of the things I hear the most about why people don't want to use a TeamSpeak server is that they are afraid that people on the server may laugh or ridicule them for not knowing the language.  My response to this is that we are all learning the language.  No one knows the language fully, so no one has the ability to laugh at anyone.   We are all here because we want to learn and use the language, not to point fingers when someone makes a mistake.  So, let's LEARN and USE the language the way Dr. Frommer would want us to use it, by speaking it, not by writing it.

I am starting to create separate channels for different languages.  Right now, we have the main channels (which are english), and a polish channel.  If you have a language you want added, let me know, and I will add it.

Please, make sure that the channel is not already a channel on the server before posting your language ideas.  Thanks.

Teamspeak is so great for asking questions!  I don't really like asking much on the forums because I know there's a million questions asked all the time!

Hikyuuri

Well, I finally have the TeamSpeak server fully set up how I wanted.  It has several different channels for several different languages (if you would like one added, let me know), along with an off topic channel, a music channel for broadcasting your fan music, and file browsers.  You can now upload files directly to my server so others can download them.

I am hoping to have a full tutorial set up in the near future that will explain how to use all the server's features, including creating subchannels, uploading files, and stuff like that.

Below is a picture of how the client looks for people who connect.
