What happened to the irc?

I think that some of us are on the wrong side of a router malfunction, because every time it does connect (even if briefly), I see a lot of other people still there. I also see other people timing out and others popping in briefly.

I hope it's resolved soon.

(EDIT: By router, I mean one of the ones that route a massive chunk of traffic through to their destination, not the home ones that you connect your own computers to.)

Yeah. The IRC is down right now for some reason. Not sure why, im not an IRC admin.

Even though the IRC is down, people can still communicate with my TeamSpeak server. It has a text chat system similar to the IRC system. I have created a channel for text chat only. You do not need a mic or speakers to connect.

Go to http://forum.learnnavi.org/website-info/if-i-was-to-host-a-teamspeak-server/ for instructions on how to connect to the TeamSpeak server.

The time is 12:00 AM for me, and I have attempted to connect multiple times with no success, getting the "Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)" error message.

Update @ 6:40 AM: Connected Successfully!

The server is still up and working fine, but there appears to be some weirdness going on somewhere else on the internet that is making it difficult for some people to reach the server. I am continuing to troubleshoot...

Update: Not all the clients dropped from the machine, so I am assuming there was a problem further upstream from the server on the net. Everything seems to be working normally now, so we'll file this under 'unknown problems' and keep an eye on it for a while.

Looks like the IRC server was actually hit with a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. The event lasted for 3 hours and peaked at 212Mb/s and 465,000pps of traffic. Jeez.

It's unusual to see this kind of thing, so hopefully we won't get it again. If we start getting this a lot on the current server, I will move the IRC process to another server at another location.

Well, it hasn't let me connect for the last 3 hours now, and I have been trying continuously, so somethings wrong.
