I thought i'd mention that its kind of annoying when a bunch of topics were moved to another forum and then locked, like the first page of the intermediate forums. Just thought i would throw a thought out there for all of us.

Irayo.
Want to bring Na'Vi to X-Box live? Send a friend request to "SR Raptor 50" with the word Na'Vi attatched to it! I hope to have at least one friend who i can chat with in Na'Vi. Irayo, Ewya Ngahu. -Raptor

The topics are locked in the original forum they were moved from, but are open for posting in the new forum they are moved to. The lock, along with the words "Moved" in the title indicate the thread was transferred elsewhere. So you may see the topics locked at first, but in reality, they're not really "locked."

As the forums continue to grow, we're doing our best to keep the place as organized as possible. The intermediate section could use some clean-up. If you have some ideas about how to keep the sub-forums like the intermediate section clean(er), let me know!

Not sure if any of this will work, but here's what i found after looking closely at the Intermediate forum:

-Roughly 90% of the threads in there are grammar related.
-Another 5% seem to asking for translation help
-The remaining 5% are relatively random, but language related threads.

Consider creating two new sub boards:
1. Grammar Help (or whatever)
2. Translation Help (or whatever)

Leave the remaining random language related threads as they are.

Or, to save work, leave all the grammar related threads out there, and create:
1. Translation Help (Or whatever)
2. Language Related Discussion (or whatever)

This method requires moving far fewer threads, and leaves the main sub-forum full of grammar related threads.

If anyone has the time, one of the things i think the forum needs is an FAQ type of resource that answers commonly asked questions about both the Na'vi language (as i tend to see a lot of repeat questions, in all the language forums) and the Avatar Universe as a whole (to avoid the 3 threads asking what Tsayhalu is or what Queues are). Going through the threads in the intermediate section may be daunting, but in order to move the appropriate threads, you almost have to at least read the first few posts.

Just tossing out some ideas.  ;D

Well spoken!

FYI, there is a FAQ thread in the Beginners' board.  The main post on that thread hasn't been updated in a while.

Also, there is a FAQ page on the wiki.  It is, alas, completely empty.  However, it has a "help needed" section with instructions and suggestions for adding to the page, and it's one of the five projects anyone can contribute to on the "Help Wanted" page.

Maybe in time the FAQ-y things we have will get better... as you say, it's a matter of someone having the time.

The problem with the FAQ thread is it is totally out of control (IMHO).  I think moving that to the wiki is a good idea however.
