Newest update: http://wiki.learnnavi.org/

A bunch of people proposed a Learn Na'vi wiki site, for a cohesive structure of all things Na'vi. I have to be honest, my experience with Wikipedia is limited (aside from hours of fascinated clicking). Who is up for helping the Wiki page get off the ground?

Ooh, I will.  Once I get home from work.   :-\

This may be a bit of work, but it would be really cool if you could link the user accounts on the forum to the wiki.  Here is a link that explains how to do it.

I know that allowing anonymous edits is like, totally, the wikiwiki way.  However, it will draw spam like you wouldn't believe.  You can use this to force people to have an account on the Wiki before monkeying with any pages:

# No anonymous edits.
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false;

In LocalSettings.php.  This isn't perfect, but may make life easier.

I tried hooking it up, and it seems to work, unless someone wants to log in.

Unable to view external table

MySQL Error Message: Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_swedish_ci,EXPLICIT) for operation '='

Thoughts?

Which mod were you making, the no anonymous edits or in linking the forum user table to the wiki?

Tried hooking up the wiki login to the SMF forums. Something tells me that the encoding of the separate databases is interfering with it..

Seze

That would be a pretty good guess.  Found someone with a similar issue online except it was vbulletin.  Link

I would suggest looking into what encoding is being used and if possible make the wiki and smf match.

It would be really nice having the same nick and password for the forum and the wiki, it would be easier for us to go from one to another easily, and adding things.

Considering the talent in the forum mods, is anyone here contributing to the wikipedia.org page?

My only concern is accurate citations for the corpus.

This may be fallout from the forum getting hammered, but the wiki is down at the moment.  http://wiki.learnnavi.org/ returns a 404 File Not Found error.

Kaltxì ma Erimeyz,
Yes, it is related to the loading issue. Rest assured that the wiki data is intact and Seabass is working diligently to make it accessible again. Shouldn't be long.

You could message the author, Karyu Amawey, here on the forums for that, if you wish.

The wiki is back online, with all the pre-crash content.  Hooray!  Three cheers for Seabass!
