Well, I was browsing around, and went to the Music Section. Once I got there, I got a popup asking to download an 'Octet Stream'. I'm not sure exactly, but I would like to know more on it before it re-appears.

That would be a server/browser hiccup; happens sometimes. Ignore and refresh :)

yep, I had this on other sites too. However I actually have a lot of "image could not be loaded" icons (user rank for example)...

Just making sure, don't want any Scareware popping up one here again.

[Information Bump]

Okay, now I think either the site's messing up on my account or just my computer. About every 5 times I got to a page on this community, I get either a hiccup or a CSS crash. It's been going on quite too often for me to ignore it, but just to be sure, I would like to get more information to be sure it's just me.

Try disabling addons, something might be interfering.

Killed all add-ons that were installed before this started happening, and it's already has a CSS crash once.

EDIT:

Clicked the Home button, requested to download 'index.php', so now I think it's just FireFox.

What is your exact version of Firefox and what software (specifically AV and Firewalls) are running in the background?

Human No More

It's likely an issue with your connection (or possibly server, but I'm not getting it, neither are other people from the looks of it) - as above, we need to know if you run a firewall and what one, also what AV, or anything else that might perform packet inspection on your connection.

I get this while using the firefox 4 beta but not with google chrome

So I think it might be firefox...
(or strange coincidence due to firefox running on my much more powerful computer which is in far better condition than the battered netbook running chrome...)
Only mostly AWOL.

Cleared Firefox cache, history, etc... Didn't work.

Just now installed Firefox 4.b11, so far nothing's popped up.

Then let's hope it stays that way :)
Beta versions of applications often have weird problems and Mozilla are renowned for breaking things even with non-beta releases :P

Upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, installed Firefox, works fine, now it does it again. I'm assuming that it's just Firefox.

It might be a (rare) issue with Avast. I'd say that you should try to disable the Webscanner. That would of course cause the same or similar problems with all browsers.

guest2859

Well when I upgraded, I also moved from Avast 5 to 6. If it's a rare issue, I think an OS and Antivirus upgrade would have gotten it, but I think with points to a certain application, I assume it's Firefox three.six. But I'm not going to use that as a conclusion, but I'll use IE9 for a while to see he that works. I don't want to change AV but if that's the problem, I'll try that and then take guesses.
