Service outage

LearnNavi had a period of unavailability this morning. We are investigating the cause, but all services appear to be up and working at this time.

I already had some issues last night but it didn't last long. Maybe this was the forerunner of today's downtime

Hmmm, I don't think so. This turned out to be a httpd.conf edit error that Apache choked on when cron restarted it to rotate the logs out at 00:00PST. It wouldn't have been read in before that time.

Could it be connected: I'm experiencing difficulties on certain functions of the board. The "new" button for a few topics that I'm following doesn't work. The page does not load.

A few hours ago I had the same problem with the "logout" button.

Ideas?

I just made a couple of tweaks involving the php caching. Let's see what that does...

server response this night is very very slow, a few times I even got message that database can't be connected to.
What is hapenning?

I just went through a rather large shopping list of port upgrades on the server that had LearnNavi.org stuttering for a bit and even going dark for about 30 minutes. All work is completed now and everything should be back to normal. Apologies for the inconvenience, but the process was rather more involved than I anticipated...
