I went ahead and changed 'pre-first' to 0 in the database. The definitions come up 'infix in position 0' now instead of 'infix the pre-first position'.  It is only those two words, so I wonder how confusing that will be?  -M.

EDIT: The vocab is coming up with ì instead of ì and ä instead of ä on my browser. Does anyone else see that?

Oh good. I was about to go on a Wordpress charset bug hunt.  ;)

Me.

I'm going to fix that.

Also, I'm panicking because I fudged the encoding on /navi-vocabulary. I have literally zero idea how this could have happened. Trying to fix that now, unless you have a quick solution? 'ä'. At least we know the generator at least mostly works?

EDIT: For the future, what is the best way to use the generator, and have the result be clean UTF-8 for copy-paste? (I'll also have to examine my setup too)

DOUBLE EDIT: I know what happened, and I fixed things on my end. I could update it all right this second to fix it all, but I see T is already editing that page so I won't touch it.

I have "æ" instead "æ" in the database. But I've fixed the script output by replacing "æ" by "æ". Weird.

ä and ì show up fine for me, but the ä and ì words are now sorted to the end of the dictionary, after z.  ;)

Tìtstewan

Lul, confirming that.

That needs to be fixed to the original sort. Whatever was done needs to be undone.

Fascinating. The PDF magically just started sorting weird? O.o

We'll, it does use sortmagic, so...

I have not touched EE, so I don't know what caused that.

What I have learned:  The sorting issue with Ä and Ì has been around for a while.  I have a PDF from June and it I see the incorrect sorting order in it as well.  Can others confirm this?  I can manually fix the latex file, then generate a new PDF with the sections in the right spot, but it won't fix the root of the issue.

Interesting.

Also, didn't AW AY EW EY also have their own sections at one point like KX PX TX TS NG?

I manually edited the latex file, here is an updated version that fixed the sort order:
