Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)
(Very old, outdated) Na'vi FUN activity book is here: But what are you doing? Let me know! :)

I like the variety of puzzles you've given.  Worksheets always make things more interesting to do.

Some of the puzzles I don't know how to do; I don't know whether I'm just that thick, or whether it just needs instructions.  (I'm talking about the Keyword puzzles.

The Crossword, Find-A-Word, and 2,3, and 4 letter fill in the blanks look like good starter puzzles for people like me.  ;)

GREAT POINT! Thank you. This is something I should have seen coming. I am not a "crossword junkie" but I have bought several crossword books in the past (which is where I got the idea for this) and I was assuming that these were fairly obvious. I should write out intros for each puzzle to explain the idea. For the moment, the keyword puzzles work like this:

The "Key word" is made up of all of the missing letters from the clues. When you write in a missing letter ("IRA_0 is missing  "Y" for example"), you write the missing letter (in this case "Y") in the "Key word." Each cluse has a number (1,2,3,4 . . .) that corresponds diretclty to the number of the letter in the keyword.

The idea behind the Key word puzzles is that you can either fill in the letters of the clue words, or, if you don't know a particular word in a clue, BUT you do solve the Keyword, you can take the letter from the keyword and fill it in the clue (learning a new word that way).

Wow that was complex. I hope it helped. Thanks for the feedback--I will get on that.

Man, that's cool. I'm looking forward to printing them off and doing them at work on monday.

Kaltxì! I thought that was really great. I pretty much fail at teaching myself a language all by myself, but that really helped. I think you should totally continue with it, because it seriously helps. I had the same problem with the keyword puzzles, but I got it now :D irayo!

Okay, so I changed the "Key Word Puzzles" (now re-named "Mystery Word puzzles") and added a few pages from the original workbook (3 weeks ago--pre Windows crash). I apologize deeply for all of the white space, but the old pages are unfixable until I completely redo them, which at this point is a non-starter. I want to find my back-up Quark CD, or buy a new copy rather than fight with MS Word any more.

But other than that, we are up to 20 pages (some pages are a bit bare, as noted above), and if I can get a better desktop publishing solution, and if it turns out people generally like this, I can expand it to 40 pages with no real problem. That's a LOT of Na'vi fun! And from there more pages can be added, until some lawyer decides that I cannot. So please remember to leave feedback HERE.

Irayo, Irayo, Oel meuia aynga(ti?) nìtwox.

Great job Dusty :) Glad you finally went public with it, ive had to sit on this thing for like three weeks! Spread the word, because I have a feeling that this is going to help a lot of people that have been struggling.

With all of my heart I thank you. I will see what I can do to make future pages easy for absolute beginners, challenging for those who are not, and evil enough for FOX, oops! I mean the RDA! (gyaa! I hate being so sumìna* sometimes!)

Might want to change a couple of the words too..

Smile is lrrtok, faheu (Or what is considered proper spelling now, fahew) is smell - key word puzzle 1
Similarly, the actors all pronounced it "tsaheylu", so that may be the correct spelling...  (Several places)

Plus, does it make sense to use the secret word for one puzzle as a clue for another? (Mystery word puzzle 1 vs 3)

I don't know where the "KelutrEl" spelling came from (Not saying you misspelled it, I've seen it elsewhere) but it doesn't make sense, since Utral is tree, and the SG (Source of the word I believe) has kelutral as well. (Also several places)

Not sure if you're playing off the fact that we didn't know the word for friend in "Na'vi don't have any friends" - because they do have 'eylan now.

Ftxey lu nga tokx ftxey lu nga tirea? Lu oe tìkeftxo.

Thank you, thank you.

Since I am bored at the moment, I am working on a truly evil medium-large grid (18x18 or so) crossword to punish the old members for their considerable knowledge of vocabulary. (I didn't want them to be left out of the fun). I haven't added infixes yet, but I might once or twice--with good solid clues of course--and only when I am absolutely certain that I am not wrong).

Irayo!!!!!!   Even though I've been here a while, I'm still "like a baby" in my understanding as I don't quite know which things to learn first and having to split work time and little time to study Na'vi on the side, and the fact that I don't remember things as good as others, I was having a hard time strengthening my vocabulary, least of all the grammar rules too.  Thank you sooooo much for this.  It is totally helpful!!!!   ;D :) :D

This is so neat. Just the stuff I always liked when I was learning english (damn, looooong time ago. I'm getting old).
If you need help I hereby gladly offer it.
Mind if I try to translate them to german? Those folks might be interested to and (sadly!) some aren't that fluent with english...

Yes! I have been wanting to find someone to translate it. I have the source files for most of the documents (well, everything that is in MS Word I have--or if you can edit PDFs, well then that is even easier). The good thing about puzzles is you only have to translate the English clues (words). That Na'vi, puzzle structure and clip art can all stay the same--thereby saving time and trouble. Just please make sure to translate the fact that it looks crappy because I lost my layout program in a computer crash.

PM me if you need the doc files and I will zip them up and load them on my server.

p.S. The most evil Na'vi crossword is done! This one was a LOT easier than the first one--and it will look like a normal crossword, with clues and numbers and whatnot. So if anyone thought the first 20 pages were too easy, this puzzle will set them straight. All of the words are in the dictionary, and there are no tricks or "partial words," but I doubt very many people will know all of these words.

(heh heh heh)  :-X
