Hi everyone, new here. Not even a beginner yet; probably going to be able to start Na'vi in a couple weeks or so. I am a conlang person though. For reasons, I'm trying to find out if there's any documented words for how loan words into Na'vi work. Since Na'vi has a lot of sounds that are exotic to English speakers, how is it determined which Na'vi sounds the English sounds should be translated into? In other words, is there a rule that says Earth should be 'Rrta and not Eurta? Is there any kind of guideline for that?

I'm not sure if we have such exact rules - try to look at the dictionary, in C section there's list of loan words. Many of them are transcription of English word using nearest letters/sounds available in Na'vi, so there are changes like B -> P (book -> puk), D -> Tx (dollar -> txolar), Sh -> S (sky-ship -> tawsìp). If English word contains word, available in Na'vi, it can be used in loan (like in previous example).
Another thing to consider are rules for creating Na'vi syllables - some groups of letters aren't allowed, so some vowel is added (like in post -> postì).
But probably some more experienced people can say more.

Welcome!

As far as I know, there is no official documentation of how to translate/transcribe english words into Na'vi.
