How would you say "I want to be with you"?
I need to use <iv> somewhere don't I but how would you use it with ngahu?
Irayo for any help, I'm a pretty slow learner

I think Oe new livu ngahu will do. Here <iv> is inserted into a lexical verb after a modal verb new.

I agree, except I'd use tok rather than lu, since ngahu is a place where I want to be.

Using tok will open another can of worms though, because unlike lu it's transitive. So something like Oe new tivok tsengit a ngalok will be necessary.

Perhaps Oe new ngati sivim will do the trick (assuming sim is transitive, that is)?

At the moment, we only know that tok can be used directly with an accusitive.  It's inclear if "oe ngahu tok" works.  But "oe ngahu lu" does work so for now, I'd consider "lu" there to be more correct.

(I actually like tok there as well, and gave Frommer some points for why I think it should be correct, we'll see if he agrees.  Eventually.  At the moment he's a bit busy.)

Just to add to the discussion, we know lu is probably okay here, because we have the expression

Eywa ngahu [livu] — the verb is just normally left unstated.
