Oh I'm quite aware of that.  The dictionary is my bible when I'm working on ficcage, although I try to keep my word usage small and mostly for concepts or things which lack a direct translation for ease of understanding by non-speakers.  Unfortunately we don't yet have a better word for that particular item so for the moment I'm using the technically illegal word for it.  A likely correction would be "tsey" but I'm not going to go out on a limb and make my own corrections, that is for the marvelous Frommer to do and me to edit later when it is corrected.

You can use an English word for it. It is in fact, a story written in English.

Ah, but it's all about the flavour of the thing.  Simply calling it a "belongings rack" is rather awkward.  By using words of the language, even if they are currently disputed, it helps draw the reader into the world of my characters.

And yes I write in English, however, I was brought into fanfiction in the wonderful world of Anime fics, which generally use a fair amount of Japanese, so for me it seems more natural to use "foreign" words than to use their often-insufficient English equivalents.

As a quick example, in Japan, they have a particular animal of the vulpine (fox) family called a "tanuki".  It's a species of animal exclusive (at least until recently - not going into the long discussion of invasive foreign species) to Asia, but it does have an English name, which is "Raccoon Dog".  The English name is a horrendous misnomer as the animal is neither a raccoon nor a dog (it has a band across its eyes and a striped tail and does, in some ways, resemble a raccoon which is probably where the name came from) and no self-respecting writer of any calibre would use it over "tanuki".

Anyway, I do hope you enjoy everything else about the story

Happy Canada Day!  I'd hoped to get this chapter out a couple days ago but real life prevented that happening mostly due to me rolling my ankle and then having to do my paper route injured AND hunt all over town for shoes to wear to my bro's wedding, so yeah you get a Canada Day present instead!

And Duma? I write at my own darn speed as the spirit moves me, it's how I keep the story good.  If I force myself to write faster all you'd get is cr@p which I wouldn't post anyway because I wouldn't be happy with it.  Writing to a schedule is a sign of an immature writer who doesn't yet know their own strengths and weaknesses.

Anyway I'll not rant here, loves.  Go read and enjoy!  >.> and tread carefully, there be semi-almost-smuttyness in there so if you're too young for that sort of thing then watch your step (if you couldn't get into an R rated movie on your own you shouldn't be reading my stories )

heh, good question.  Duration in time-wise it's going to continue after the RDA is banished, the only thing is I'm not sure how much further than that it'll go.  Probably something like another 4-6 months in order to resolve the issues I want to resolve, although there's always the consideration that I'm likely to get too attached to my characters to want to just drop things there, which could lead to a sequel.  I make no promises though

I definitely have plot points worked out up to and through the battle and after, though!

that is the best idea for this bo- i mean fan-fic! what would happen in avatar 2 if Jakes brother was still around? that would be an awsome plot!
