Calling all Trekkies and Avatards (because I know how much this community loves that name)!
My Trekkie friend and I decided it was time for us (and I mean we the Na'vi folk) to stop trying to "out-Klingon" Klingon, and be friends! Just because we think Na'vi is better and they think Klingon is better doesn't mean we can't get along. We've decided to call this truce Kla'vi. It is also the new clan name for the harmonious Klingon-Na'vi tribe where everyone lives in peace. So, who's with us?

Um... I didn't think the Klingons were into that sort of thing, peace and all.

That's why we're in the 21st century. And I'm more referring to the Trekkies that speak Klingon than the actual Klingons. I don't watch Star Trek so I wouldn't know either way.
And hello, the Klingons and Na'vi people would be an unstoppable team together if they put their differences aside!

Never been a star trek fan, but I don't see why the two couldn't get along. I'd support an agreement like this.

I just imagined a bunch of Na'vi and Klingons fighting side-by-side kicking some RDA butt...

the klingies only want a truce cause they know we're going to beat their language to a bloody mush and make compost to grow more beautiful na'vi words XD

LOL. :D

Also...I read somewhere that Na'vi would be the language to "out-Klingon Klingon"...having been here for a month+ now, I believe it.

There was a thread about this in the Klingon board where we wanted to join forces against the humans. It took some pretty weird turns :P Nice to see the idea lives on, haha

Wow, I didn't even know there was a Klingon board here XD I guess great minds think alike then.
It's a fabulous idea either way, the Trekkies and Avatards can all communicate to each other in a strange combination of Klingon and Na'vi (and no one will really have any idea what the other is saying, but it'll still work out somehow.)

The combined language wasn't part of that thing though. Sounds like an interesting idea and I think it would sound pretty hilarious considering how different the two are :P

Wait, when do the Klingons actually speak Klingon? I haven't really watched much Star Trek, though that might change pretty soon - I just watched a few episodes from the original set (with Kirk, etc.), and they spoke English in both the episodes they were in...

On the subject of Star Trek, I absolutely loved the 3 episodes I watched - I love Spock especially :P

Are Klingons the guys with the strange forehead?

No, they're the guys with the weird facial hair. Though in the later series I think they got weird foreheads...

HRH, yes, that's them, but as Muzer said, that came a bit later. They do also speak Klingon among themselves.

This concept was considered and executed from launch of the website.  We even have a Klingon linguistics warrior involved in the LEP.

why is it klavi? Why not Na'vingon? Why does klingon have to go first? I suggest switching it

Because this way we get more of our letters in, we get the last 4 of our letters, they only get two.

Na'vingon on the hand would be good because then we get all of them in, unfortunately we no longer outnumber klingon in it.
