Yup!  This was the "exclusive new footage" from the Scream awards last night.

and no, ma Mìhìl, if I remember the script correctly, the guy was just some random a$$wipe who was being nasty to his girl and Jake decided to "defend" her mostly as an excuse to throw some punches.

I remember reading this scene in the script, and wondered why it wasn't in the final cut.  I always imagined the bar as being darker and seedier, though.

i imagined the same thing, i wasn't expecting a slightly-open-hearted bar. It kinda looks like good times that used to be in boston's downtown area. it was a arcade/pool tables/bar kinda place. it (the bar in avatar) has the same open spaced and half-friendly atmosphere.
